Kasperi Kapanen’s hot streak sicne his return to the lineup continued Saturday night as he netted a hat trick to lead the Penguins to a 6-2 win over St. Louis.
Kapanen scored two goals and Brian Rust added another as the Pens took a 3-1 first period lead. Jason Zucker returned to the ice in the second period after having to leave for medical attention in the first and scored to make it 4-1. After the Blues mnade it 4-2 later in the period, Kapanen scored his third goal of the game and fourth in two games since his return from being benched. Sidney Crosby scored into an empty net late in the game to set the final.
Tristan Jarry stopped 26 of 28 shots to earnt he win for the Penguins.
