STORRS, Conn. – The No. 3 UConn women's basketball team (6-0) takes on its fourth top-10 opponent of the season as the Huskies travel to No. 7 Notre Dame (6-1) Sunday at 3 p.m. The game will air on ABC and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (97-9 ESPN).

UConn opened BIG EAST play with a 98-53 win over Providence on Friday. Redshirt junior Aubrey Griffin and graduate student Lou Lopez Sénéchal led UConn with 18 points each. Griffin and junior Aaliyah Edwards each had double-doubles vs. the Friars.

Junior guard Nika Mühl had her fourth straight game with 10+ assists as she dished out 12 vs. Providence. Five Huskies finished in double-digit scoring vs. the Friars and all nine available players scored at least three points.

UConn is 39-13 all-time vs. Notre Dame. UConn won last year's matchup with Notre Dame, a 73-54 victory in Storrs, Conn. This is UConn's first trip to South Bend, Ind., since Dec. 2, 2018. No Husky on the current roster has played at Notre Dame. UConn freshman Ayanna Patterson is from Fort Wayne, Ind., which is 70 miles away from South Bend.

Notre Dame is coming off its first loss of the season, a 74-72 decision to Maryland last Thursday. This season, Sonia Citron leads the Irish with 16.6 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. Four Notre Dame players are averaging double-digit points per game. Head coach Niele Ivey is in her third season at her alma mater.

Sunday's game vs. Notre Dame is one of six games UConn will play on network TV channels this season. The Huskies are playing on ABC for three straight Sundays: last Sunday vs. Iowa, this Sunday vs. Notre Dame and next week at Maryland.
