DAILY BRIEFING

Vols look for a trip to Miami, while the Titans search for a W in Philly

Happy Sunday morning! This is trending sports writer Nick Gray. Happy bowl schedule release day!

We'll find out today where the Tennessee Vols will play their bowl game later this month. In the unlikely event Alabama sneaks into the College Football Playoff, the Vols will play in the Sugar Bowl. But it's very likely that the Vols will otherwise land in the Orange Bowl against ACC champion Clemson. We'll see for certain on Sunday afternoon.

The Music City Bowl will release its matchup later Sunday for the Dec. 31 game at Nissan Stadium. That will be a game televised on ABC and will be the first game of the day ahead of the CFP semifinals.

The Titans have a big game on Sunday, too, travelling to face the NFC-leading Philadelphia Eagles. A.J. Brown faces the team that drafted him and traded him for the first time. Columnist Gentry Estes wrote this week that Titans players and coaches aren't mad at the Eagles receiver heading into Sunday's showdown, even if fans might be.
