LEHI, Utah — A misunderstanding caused a building to be placed in “lock down” after reports of a man with a gun Tuesday.
According to the Lehi Police statement, they were dispatched to a building at 3300 N Triumph Blvd after a report of a man with an unconcealed gun.
The building was on lockdown, according to police, while officers searched and cleared the building.
“They eventually located the man and learned that he was allowed in the building,” reads the Lehi PD statement. “He was there to show a co-worker the gun, which was unloaded.”
Police determined there was no threat and cleared the scene.
Even though there was no threat, Lehi PD Corporal Brian Cullen said in the statement, “we take these situations seriously.”
