It’s been a hard week of snow for Snohomish County residents, and more is on the way.
Over 28,000 people were left without power earlier this week. On Saturday, many were picking up groceries in anticipation for more snow.
“It was bad; there were a lot of lines down, a lot of tree limbs broken in our backyard," said Sarah Sullivan, who lives in Edmonds.
Sullivan said she got her two kids and left the house as soon as the power went out because of the snow. She had to find shelter and went to a hotel because of the freezing temperatures.
“It was very cold I didn’t notice much of a difference from the outside to the inside," Sullivan added.
Snohomish county is expecting a few more inches of snow in the area. Friday night, Edmonds reported between 2 to 4 inches of snow, Lynnwood saw 3 to 4 inches, Everett also saw 2 to 4 inches.
Drivers in the area could start seeing icy roads from the melting snow. Which is why people like Sharon Buck headed to store to stock up on necessities.
“I’ve got my car loaded up, tire chains and my shovel you can see my shovel is in there," Buck said.
Nobu Ohashi put his shovel to use as he cleared his driveway from this week's snowfall while his kids sled down the hill. Some schools in Snohomish county canceled classes because of the snow.
"I work from home and no power means it’s kind of hard to work," Ohashi said. "And the kids didn’t have school too so rather than staying home with no power we went to the library."
Saturday night, slippery roads are expected as temperatures drop. People say they’re keeping an eye on the conditions and continuing to prepare for what the next snowfall will bring.
