December 3, 2022--The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's track and field teams made a strong debut to the 2022-23 season on Saturday.Â
Jovana Miloradovic matched the Mount's school record in the triple jump while
Zionna Perez-Tucker,
Nasir Banks,
Daniel Reader and
Dylan LaNoue each won events to highlight the days action. The Mountaineers had athletes competing at both the Navy Invitational and the Bucknell Bison Opener.
Miloradovic matched the school record in the triple jump with a mark of 11.65m (38' 3.75") that was set by Fatima Abbas way back on Feb. 17, 2002. She finished in fourth place in the field with teammate
Logan Hart finishing fifth with a leap of 11.23m. Perez-Tucker took home first place in the 60m dash with a mark of 7.63 seconds, good for third on the Mount's all-time list.Â
Jasmine Kidd finished fifth in the 60m dash with a mark of 7.86 seconds.Â
Zaria Wilson was fifth in the 400m dash and
Molly Connelly fourth in the 3,000m run. At Bucknell,
Keighan DeCoff finished fifth in the shot put with a throw of 11.94m.
On the men's side,
Daniel Reader won the 400m dash with
Nasir Banks winning the 500m. Reader took home first with a time of 48.24 seconds to move into fourth on the Mount's all-time top 10 list. Banks had a winning time of 1:03.89 in the 500m to move into fifth all-time at the Mount in the event. The Mount had a trio of athletes move to the finals in the 60m hurdles in
Richard Gilchrist,
Will Stephenson and
Matthew LeRoux. Gilchrist finished second in the finals with a time of 7.91 seconds, just .02 off his school record. Stephenson was seventh in the final with a time of 8.33 (seventh all-time at the Mount) and LeRoux was eighth in a time of 8.43 seconds.
In the 4x400m relay, the Mount captured first place in a time of 3:18.07. Reader,
Todd Charles,
Justyn Seivright and Banks comprised the Mount's realy team.Â
Dylan LaNoue won the high jump with a mark of 2.09m, moving up to a tie for fifth all-time at the Mount with that result.Â
Arran Fahey was tied for second in the pole vault (4.55m) with
Carter Holsinger tied for fifth (4.40m).Â
The Mountaineers compete next on January 21 at Bucknell and Ursinus.
