Cleveland man arrested after calling 911 without a good reason; TV stolen from car dealership: Brook Park police blotter

BROOK PARK, Ohio –

Misuse of 911: Brookpark Road

A Cleveland man, 55, was arrested at about 5 p.m. Nov. 21 after he called 911 several times for no good reason.

The man had called police from Shell, 13030 Brookpark, regarding a harassment complaint. Details about the man’s complaint weren’t available.

Police arrived and began talking to the man but were called away on a more pressing situation nearby. While police were away, the man called 911 four times with the same complaint, even though dispatchers told him to stop calling unless he had a real emergency.

Breaking & entering: Brookpark Road

A television and a license plate were stolen between 3:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Nov. 16 from Luxury Motors Brook Park, 13501 Brookpark. A window was broken to gain entry.

Breaking & entering, theft: West 130th Street

A television, clothes and camping chairs were reported stolen at about 10:30 a.m. Nov. 19 from three storage units at Life Storage, 4976 West 130th.

Locks and latches on the storage units were broken to gain entry.

Grand theft vehicle: Southway Court

An unlocked 2013 Hyundai Sonata was stolen between 7 p.m. Nov. 20 and 9 a.m. Nov. 21 from a driveway on Southway.

Theft: Smith Road

A Brook Park man, 27, was arrested at about 2:30 p.m. Nov. 18 after he stole a bottle of tequila from Quick State Liquor, 5945 Smith.

A Quick State worker told police the man concealed the tequila in his clothes and left the store without paying. The worker confronted the man outside the store. The man handed the bottle to the worker and walked away. Police found the man behind Brookgate Shopping Center.

Petty larceny: Ashland Drive

A water meter was reported stolen at about 1:30 p.m. Nov. 20 from a vacant house on Ashland. There were no signs of forced entry.

Theft: Keystone Parkway

Identification, debit and food-assistance cards and $100 in cash were reported stolen at about 1:45 p.m. Nov. 22 from Victory Packaging, 1000 Keystone. There were no signs of a break-in.
