Bitten, 24, has played in 20 games for the Thunderbirds this season, scoring eight goals and two assists (10 points). His eight goals currently share the team lead with forward Nathan Todd.
Bitten was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the third round (No. 70 overall) in the 2016 NHL Draft.
In 233 career AHL regular-season games, Bitten has recorded 112 points (49 goals, 63 assists) and 102 penalty minutes.
If he plays Saturday against the Pittsburgh Penguins, it will mark his NHL regular-season debut.
