Police: Blanchester native dead following crash on I-75 in Dayton
The Dayton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a five-vehicle fatal crash that occurred just before 3 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 75 at Interstate 70 in Butler Township. According to officials, a Freightliner semitruck/tractor-trailer combination, operated by Lilemon J. Ferguson, 59, was driving on the ramp from westbound I-70 to northbound I-75 when the vehicle went off the left side of the ramp, through the gore, and into the northbound lanes of I-75, where it struck three vehicles.One of the drivers of the three northbound vehicles, Robyn Birzer, 20, of Blanchester, OH, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. After striking the three northbound vehicles, the Freightliner struck the concrete median barrier wall, where debris struck a southbound Chevrolet Camaro.The drivers of the other two northbound vehicles suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken by ground ambulance to Miami Valley Hospital. The driver of the southbound Chevrolet Camero was not injured.Both the north and southbound lanes have been cleared and reopened.
