Blacktail Mountain Ski Area is opening runs for the 2022-23 season starting Dec. 10.
This is earliest opening date in 10 years, and celebrates Blacktail Mountain's 25th anniversary season.

Blacktail Mountain Ski Area is excited to announce that opening day of the 2022/23 season will be Saturday, December 10th. The ski area will open for its 25th Anniversary season, the earliest opening date in 10 years, on Saturday and Sunday from 9am-4pm each day. The Olympic Chair, Thunderhead Chair and Mighty Might Handle Tow are scheduled for operation. The Crystal Chair and additional terrain will open as conditions permit.
“I’m very proud of who we are, what we’ve done and who we continue to be in this community,” said GM Jessi Wood. “I’m really excited to celebrate 25 years and to kick the season off a little early as well!”
Blacktail Mountain will be closed the 12th through the 15th and reopen Friday the 16th through Sunday the18th. The ski area will open for 7 day-a-week operations from December 21st through January 2nd.
Current forecasts for Saturday call for partly cloudy skies, 20% chance of snow, a high near 14 degrees and south to southwest winds 5 to 10 mph.
Season Passes and daily lift tickets are available to purchase online at estore.blacktailmountain.com. Blacktail Mountain Ski Area encourages guests to save money and time at the ticket office by creating an account, purchasing RFID cards and day lift tickets in advance online.
