6-hour standoff leads to the arrest of one in Parke Co.

PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A nearly six-hour standoff in Parke County resulted in the peaceful arrest of one Indiana man.

The Indiana State Police attempted to serve an active Porter County warrant for Brandon Crockett, 43, of Lebanon Indiana.

Upon the arrival of troopers, Crockett barricaded himself in a Kingman, Indiana home. All other residents inside were able to exit without incident.

Troopers were able to set up a perimeter around the home at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Negotiation efforts from the Indiana State Police Emergency Response Team and Hostage Negotiator did not receive a response from Crockett.

ISP SWAT began using tactical techniques to gain voluntary compliance from Crockett but were unsuccessful.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., police made entry into the home and took Crockett into custody without incident. He is being held in the Parke County Jail.

Crockett is facing multiple drug charges and one count of resisting law enforcement.
