BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The man found shot in the middle of the median on Glades Road near the Florida Turnpike Friday is a resident of Hollywood, Florida. He had just served food to construction workers in Boca West.

BocaNewsNow.com obtained the name of the victim Friday night and briefly published the information Saturday before investigators asked us to remove the identity. While the family invoked “Marsy’s Law” which prevents law enforcement from releasing the name of a victim, BocaNewsNow.com obtained the information from a non-law enforcement source. We will re-publish the victim’s name once the investigation is completed. While “Marsy’s Law” does not apply to media, BocaNewsNow.com does tend to honor law enforcement requests made for investigative reasons. We are honoring the request in this shooting case, for now.

According to our sources, the victim, who operates a “canteen” truck used at construction sites, had just departed the construction site at Boca West when he exited the vehicle and collapsed on Glades Road. He suffered from a gunshot wound. It remains unclear who shot him or where the shooting took place. There were no bullet holes on the vehicle, and there’s no indication that anyone else was in the 2010 Chevy Silverado converted into a food service vehicle.

The man was rushed into surgery just after he was found between 12:30 and 12:45 p.m. A source who claims to know the man says that he was seen just before 12:30 in Boca West.

Records obtained by BocaNewsNow.com indicate that the man held a license to work as a security guard in Florida. It is unknown if his work in security had anything to do with the shooting. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is pursuing all leads.
