Volusia County seeks artists for Ocean Center ECHO Gallery exhibit

Volusia County's ECHO Gallery Committee is seeking proposals for a new exhibition in the Ocean Center's ECHO Gallery, a press release announced on Thursday, Dec. 1.

Local artists are encouraged to submit their two-dimensional, Volusia County history-themed art by 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, 2023.

The ECHO Gallery at the Ocean Center, located at 101 N. Atlantic Ave., is both a pre-event space and a venue to promote the county's ECHO assets by displaying rotating, non-commercial exhibits that focus on one or more of the four areas of the program: Environmental, cultural, historical and outdoor recreation.

Send submissions to [email protected] and include your artwork file (in jpg format) and a narrative describing the basic theme and subject matter. Works, done in any two-dimensional medium, should depict historical themes from within the county and be appropriate for public viewing, the press release states. Large-scale artwork is recommended, at a minimum of 18 inches by 24 inches, and a maximum of 48 inches by 60 inches. Submissions will be reviewed and selected by the seven-member ECHO Gallery Committee for display from June 2023 through March 2024.
