GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) -- A 47-year-old man is behind bars following a hit and run in Grand Traverse County.
Detectives with the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office said they located the 2019 Honda CRV they believe was involved in hitting a pedestrian on West Long Lake Road.
The 23-year-old woman is hospitalized with serious injuries, according to the sheriff's office.
Deputies and medical crews were called to West Long Lake Road around 6:21 p.m. Friday.
The woman was hit by a vehicle traveling southbound and the driver did not stop, according to the report.
Investigators found debris from the vehicle at the scene and said the suspect's vehicle may be a Honda CRV from the approximate 2017-2019 model year.
The suspected vehicle was located Saturday and deputies arrested a 47-year-old Long Lake Township man.
The Grand Traverse County Prosecutor's Office will review the facts of the case and authorize appropriate charges, according to the sheriff's office.
Detectives thanked the community for tips, but in the press release stated the vehicle was located 'by other investigative means'.
