On Dec. 2 members of the Okeechobee Narcotics Task Force arrested convicted felon Leamsi Alvarado, 42, for the sale of cocaine and possession of cocaine with intent to sell to an undercover narcotics investigator.

However, more charges were added after Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team and the task force members served a probable cause search warrant on his home in the Treasure Island area of Okeechobee.

During a search of the residence, they found:

  • Two handguns

The discovery of these items added the charges of trafficking cocaine, possessing a firearm by a convicted felon, and marijuana over 20 grams.
