Report: UC Down To Two Head Coach Candidates, Alex Golesh Out Of Running

Cincinnati is keeping most of their coaching info under wraps in this cycle.

CINCINNATI — More nuggets are surfacing around Cincinnati football's open head coach position.

According to John Brice, Tennessee offensive coordinator Alex Golesh is no longer in the running for the job, and UC is down to the final two candidates.

"While @CoachGolesh remains a top target for @USFFootball," Brice tweeted. "Golesh is not considered 1 of the 2 finalists @ Cincy."

UPDATE: According to Brett McMurphy, Golesh is taking the South Florida job.

Golesh has helped power high-flying offenses at various stops over the last few years. Cincinnati will likely land on a coach by the end of this weekend, as the transfer window opens on Monday.

Deion Sanders appears to be off the board as he gathers resources to join him at Colorado.
