OXFORD, Ohio – The Miami University women's basketball team outrebounded the Eastern Kentucky Colonels 40-27 and used a balanced scoring attack in a 73-68 victory on Friday evening.
Ivy Wolf led Miami (3-4) with 22 points and was joined in double figures by
Peyton Scott (13),
Maddi Cluse (12) and
Sierra Morrow (11). Antwainette Walker led EKU (4-4) with 24 points.
How it Happened:
- Miami raced out to a 21-12 advantage after 10 minutes of play with the help of seven points from Scott and Wolf.
- The RedHawks battled foul trouble most of the second quarter and went to the locker room tied 28-28 with the Colonels.
- Leading 36-35 midway through the third quarter, Miami closed the final 6:05 on a 19-8 run and led 55-43 heading to the fourth.
- Following a triple by Wolf, Miami extended its advantage to 65-50 with 5:34 to play. EKU could get no closer than five.
Game Notes:
- Maddi Cluse had her third double-double of the season, recording 12 points and 10 rebounds.
- Sydney Watkins posted career-bests in points (7), rebounds (6) and assists (3).
- Sierra Morrow matched her career-high with two blocks.
- Peyton Scott returned to the starting lineup for the first time this season. She played a season-high 23 minutes.
