ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Although gloomy, the forecast remains mostly dry for Saturday evening plans.

Temperatures are cooling back into the 50s this evening. Plan on temperatures in the 50s with a light breeze through your evening plans. You’ll want a light jacket. Temperatures bottom-out in the upper 30s and lower 40s north of Atlanta Sunday morning; low to mid-40s inside the Perimeter.

There won’t be much sunshine Sunday, either. Plan on a mostly cloudy, to overcast, sky through the afternoon. Temperatures struggle to reach 60° in Atlanta, with all the clouds around. While it may look like it’s going to rain at almost any point Sunday... the day is forecast to remain mostly dry. A spotty shower, or two, and some patchy drizzle can’t be ruled out; mainly northwest of Metro Atlanta. But, most folks’ plans will be rain-free.

FIRST ALERT | Widespread wet weather and a risk of heavy rain return next workweek...

The next, in a series, of storm systems sweeps eastward Monday into Tuesday. The chance of rain increases from west, to east, across North Georgia midday Monday. By Monday night, widespread rain is expected. Periods of heavy rain are possible Tuesday morning. The risk of heavy rain and some localized flooding are greatest in the mountains of far North Georgia between 6 a.m. and noon Tuesday.

Warmer, drier weather builds in heading into the middle of next week.

Have a great rest of your weekend,
