We can now fully welcome the yuletide season! Let us view the different activities December has in store for us. 

Fantasy Lights, November 25 to January 1

Fantasy Lights at Spanaway Park is the largest holiday drive-through display in the Northwest, featuring nearly 300 elaborate displays and thousands of sparkling lights. The beautiful two-mile drive along Spanaway Lake has become a memorable tradition for the entire family.  Click this link for more details.

Olympia Weavers Guild Show and Sale, December 2 to 3, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Olympia Weavers Guild Annual Show & Sale for 2022 is back, bigger and better than ever. There will be lots of beautiful, one-of-a-kind handmade items for sale. Enjoy hands-on spinning and weaving demonstrations. Enter to win the Raffle and door prizes! Festival of Trees, December 2 to 3, 9 a.m. to 12p.m.

Mary Bridge Children’s Festival of Trees is South Sound’s happiest holiday celebration supporting Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital. The Festival includes special celebrations showcasing dozens of exquisitely and uniquely decorated trees. Organized by the Mary Bridge Brigade and Mary Bridge Children’s Foundation, all proceeds benefit to care for kids at Mary Bridge. Click this link for more details.

On The Road With Partner Cafe Community Resource Fair, December 2, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

On The Road with PartnerCafe is a volunteer team of social service agencies, nonprofit representatives, and self-advocates. They set up resource tables at events sharing information, resources, and direct services in Pierce and parts of Thurston county. Its mission is to make sure people are aware of the many resources available to them. While their purpose is to walk hand in hand helping them understand and access the services they need. Santa's Grinchy Christmas Train, December 3 to 4, from 13:00 p.m.

Don’t let the Grinch steal your Christmas! Saturdays and Sundays November 26 through December 18  at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm you can enjoy the fun on Santa’s Grinchy Christmas Train! Although this is a non-moving train event (due to track damage), The Chehalis Centralia Railroad & Museum invites your family to enjoy their decorated 1920s passenger coach while sharing candy canes, cocoa, and cookies.

Skansie Brothers Park Tree Lighting, December 3, 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Join the City of Gig Harbor for the 2022 Holiday Tree Lighting in Skansie Brothers Park! They will be welcoming the public to Skansie Brothers Park on Saturday, December 3, from 5:00 - 7:30 PM for a Holiday Tree Lighting event you won't want to miss! They will have Mark Hurwitz and Gin Creek playing holiday classics live, and Mayor Tracie Markley and our guests from the 201st Expeditionary Military Intelligence Brigade will be on hand to light the tree. The Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance will be serving complimentary hot cocoa at the Skansie Netshed, Harbor WildWatch will be hosting their touch tank experience atop the Jerisich Dock pavilion, and local vendors will line Harborview Drive. Making a return this year is Santa & Mrs. Claus at Santa's House on Jerisich Dock.  Complimentary Polaroid photos with Santa are available starting at 5:30 PM. One Christmas Eve at the Evergreen Mall, December 4, from 1:55 p.m.

It's Christmas Eve and the Evergreen Mall is buzzing! Two teenagers snatch a baby Jesus from the mall nativity scene, a new salesperson uses a unique technique to sell fishing rods, a shoplifter meets an unusually compassionate security guard, a special snowman donut is missing from the break room, a sad elf needs a friend, two actors argue over roles in A Christmas Carol, a pair of former lovers may reconnect or not and just which sweater should you buy for your father's new wife? It all comes together in this heartwarming story at the Evergreen Mall. Click this link for more details.

Lacey Lighted Parade & Christmas Tree Lighting, December 5, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Join the fun as we light up Lacey!  Don’t miss the Lacey Lighted Parade of Vehicles as it travels down Sleater-Kinny, 7th Ave SE, and past Huntamer Park!  Follow the parade to the park and join us for the Annual Lighting of the Christmas Tree and all of Huntamer Park in an old-fashioned ceremony where Santa is the guest of honor!  Families are invited to visit with Santa and take photos while enjoying the lights. The parade starts at 6:30 pm and the lighting of the park will follow. After the lighting and through December, visit Huntamer Park to enjoy the lights and tune in on your car radio to hear holiday music by local students and hear Santa read a story! The Christmas Lights Are Shining Bright on Broadway, December 11-12, from 7 p.m.

The Olympia Musical Theatre Singers, under the direction of Troy Arnold Fisher, presents The Christmas Lights Are Shining Bright on Broadway, A Leiber & Stoller Christmas.  These two artists wrote over 70 chart hits, and were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1985 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. In addition to their romantic ballads, Stand by Me and Loving You, the audience will enjoy the ridiculous fun of Charlie Brown, and Yakety Yak  among others.  And, of course, OMTS will celebrate the season with Christmas favorites to warm the hearts of listeners and singers alike. There will be two performances: One on Sunday, December 11, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, and another one on Monday, December 12, at Temple Beth Hatfiloh. Hari Kondabolu at the Capitol Theater, December 13, from 8 p.m.

Comedian Hari Kondabolu (Comedy Central, NPR) will bring a new hour of stand-up comedy to Capitol Theater on Tuesday, December 13! Hailed as “one of the most exciting political comics” (New York Times), his Netflix special "Warn Your Relatives" was named on many “Best of” lists, he has performed on Comedy Central, Conan, Jimmy Kimmel Live and he is co-host of the new Netflix show “Snack vs Chef” premiering Nov 30. 2022 Holiday Makers Market by Lacey MakerSpace, December 16, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The community is invited to shop for handmade gifts crafted by over 20 indie artists, artisans, and makers at the 1st Annual Holiday Makers Market. The Lacey MakerSpace, Washington Center for Women in Business (WCWB), Saint Martin’s University, and TheWMarketplace partnered to create this event. Shoppers will find a wide range of goods, from woodworking, artisan foods, weaving, and other fiber arts to ceramics, glass, jewelry, home decor, bath and body products, art prints, paintings, cards, and much more.
