$25 million Ellicott Station replacing downtown eyesore in Batavia

Buffalo-based Savarino Cos. is replacing the former warehouse and auto repair shop complex.

BATAVIA, N.Y. — Rachael Tabelski, Batavia's city manager, said she used to cringe when driving down Ellicott Street and looking at a series of vacant buildings.

“It was not a good look for the city,” Tabelski said. “How could we promote development when these buildings were sitting there?”

Now Buffalo-based Savarino Cos. is replacing the former warehouse and auto repair shop complex, which included one structure that dated to the early 1900s, with the $25 million Ellicott Station.
