Bend It Like Beckham director Gurinder Chadha is set to develop a musical over at Disney.
Deadline reports that Chadha is reuniting and co-writing with Paul Mayeda Berges, the duo having worked together on movies including Bend It Like Beckham and Blinded by the Light.
The film will focus on a "dynamic princess from Indian history", though plot specifics are being kept under wraps for the moment.

Elsewhere, Bend It Like Beckham star Parminder Nagra, who played Jess Kaur Bhamra, is officially returning as DI Rachita Ray in ITV's namesake police procedural.
The first series, broadcast earlier this year, was noted by Digital Spy for its defying of British Asian stereotypes.
Commenting on the DI Ray recommission, Nagra said in a statement: "How lovely to have got the response that we did for series one.
"Thanks to our audience and to ITV and our amazing talented producers Maya Sondhi, Jed Mercurio, Madonna Baptiste, Jimmy Mulville, we get to do it again. We look forward to taking you on another thrilling adventure!"

Series two is being written by Line of Duty's Maya Sondhi, as well as Ben Tagoe (Stan Lee's Lucky Man) and Sarah Deane (Clink), with production scheduled to kick off in 2023.
"I am so excited to be able to work with Parminder again and all the team at HTM to bring back a series two that goes deeper, darker and twistier than Spaghetti Junction," shared Sondhi. "Thank you so much to ITV1 and the viewers for making it happen."
DI Ray will return to ITV potentially this time next year for series two. The four-episode first series is available to watch now on demand on ITVX/BritBox.
