Bobby Costello has threatened his Auntie Goldie McQueen in Hollyoaks.

Goldie has been desperate to prove Bobby had something to do with her brother Sylver's death earlier this year — and her hunch is correct as Bobby left Sylver to die and didn't tell anyone where to find him in the aftermath of the patisserie explosion.

Friday's first-look episode saw the McQueens welcome Bobby home from Alicante, with Goldie seeing this as an opportunity to trick him into a confession so she could turn over evidence to the police.

But Goldie slipped up as Bobby overheard her plan to put him behind bars. This resulted in a chilling showdown between the two in a cliffhanger scene.

Goldie confronted Bobby, who was dressed as a Christmas angel, by insisting that while she isn't "a kid genius" she isn't giving up on proving his involvement in Sylver's death.

"I'm like a dog with a bone. I loved my brother. I know that you done it on purpose and I will prove it," she warned.

Bobby half-heartedly replied: "I loved him and I love you too Auntie Goldie, even though you keep saying these horrible things about me."

The boy showed Goldie a drawing he'd done of her as an angel, adding: "Just like me!" Goldie wasn't buying it, telling Bobby that "deep down" he was just like his killer grandfather, Silas.

"Then maybe it's not a good idea to make me angry," Bobby snarled.

He then offered his own warning: "I don't want to hurt you Auntie Goldie, but if you keep trying to get me into trouble, you'll be an angel forever."

The camera flashed to Bobby drawing Xs over the eyes of Goldie in his picture, much like he'd done to a picture of Sylver shortly after his death.

Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
