Marvel's Armor Wars star Don Cheadle has cast doubt on Arnold Schwarzenegger appearing in the film.

Originally planned as a Disney+ series, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige recently announced Cheadle will be getting a solo movie based on the classic comics storyline of the same name.

There was subsequent speculation that Arnold could have a villain role in Marvel's Armor Wars as Titanium Man, a Soviet-era counterpart to Iron Man with more devious ambitions.

Cheadle was asked about the rumours during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live and gave a perplexing answer.

"I think he is in for Titanium Man," Cheadle initially answered.

He then confusedly asked: "Is this a serious question?"

Cheadle admitted he had never heard of Titanium Man, with Kimmel pointing out: "That's a bad sign."

When Kimmel explained Titanium Man's origins as a Soviet counterpart of Iron Man, Cheadle jokingly added that the fictional Aluminum Girl may appear too.

"I don't know about [that rumour]," Cheadle explained. "I'll ask him next time I see him."

The addition of Titanium Man would make sense because the character does have an important role in the comics storyline as part of a troop of KGB agents trying to get their hands on stolen Stark tech.

The original Marvel Comics event series ran from late 1987 to the summer of 1988 and also included a key role for Justin Hammer, who has been played in the past in the MCU by Sam Rockwell.

Production on the movie version is expected to begin in early 2023, though there's no firm release date set yet for the project. Black Monday and Girls' Yassir Lester is adapting the comics story for the screen.

Avengers: Endgame is out now on DVD, Blu-ray, 3D, 4K and digital download, and is available on Disney+.
