The Seattle Mariners have made clear their desire to win now and contend for a World Series title.

After rebounding from a slow start, Seattle made some key moves at the trade deadline, with the biggest one being the acquisition of Luis Castillo.

Seattle ultimately snapped a 21-year playoff drought and earned a Wild Card spot in 2022, winning 90 games during the regular season.

But in the last 100 days, some other big moves have occurred.

Seattle gave Rookie of the Year Julio Rodriguez a 12-year, $209.3 million contract extension, then re-signed Castillo to a five-year, $108 million contract.

A few weeks ago, Seattle acquired former All-Star outfielder Teoscar Hernandez from the Toronto Blue Jays.

Now, Mariners fans are awaiting the next big move.

Big Moves Coming For M’s?

Seattle looks prepared to have a busy offseason.

Adding Hernandez gave them an extra bat in their lineup that already features Rodriguez, Cal Raleigh, Eugenio Suarez, J.P. Crawford, and Jesse Winker.

After the trade was made, General Manager Jerry Dipoto made clear that the team was still looking for some offensive help.

The team will likely not retain Mitch Haniger, and may be looking into the outfield market, where names such as Andrew Benintendi, Trey Mancini, Joey Gallo, and Wil Myers could be fits for the team.

But after reaching the postseason for the first time since 2001, the Mariners are hungry for more and want to prove that 2022 was no fluke.

With a strong nucleus of stars in place, Seattle should be in postseason contention in 2023.
