Update: One arrested in connection to missing Wichita man homicide investigation

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A 19-year-old woman was arrested in the case of a missing Wichita man.

Brent Boone, 41, is believed by the Wichita Police Department to be Wichita’s latest homicide victim.

Back on Nov. 29, a 69-year-old man reported Boone missing to WPD. WPD learned that Boone was last seen leaving his home in the 1300 block of S. Pershing around 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 24 in a car with a man and a young woman.

The investigation led WPD to a mobile home in the 9300 block of S. Pattie in Haysville on Nov. 30. The vehicle Boone was seen leaving in was found on Dec. 1, abandoned near 21st and Ridge Road.

As they continued to investigate, WPD was led to a rural area southwest of Clearwater, near Clearwater Road and West 140th Avenue, where a body, believed to be Boone’s, was found. They are still working to positively identify the body.

Over the weekend, 19-year-old Tehya Turner, one of the two people who Boone was believed to be last seen with, was booked on suspicion of first-degree intentional murder, burglary, and possession of marijuana.

Police are still looking for 31-year-old Saul Chavez Valenciana, the other person who Boone was believed to be last seen with.

Anyone who may know where Valenciana is should call 911 immediately.
