Suspect wanted for PPA officer shooting may be linked to gunfire in New York

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A suspect wanted for the shooting of a Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA) officer might be linked to a shooting in New York.

According to the New York Police Department, on Nov. 22, around 7 p.m., a Sunoco gas station employee on Boston Road in the Bronx was shot in the head by an unknown male.

Three days later, in Philadelphia, Timothy McKenzie, an on-duty PPA officer was shot on Frankford Avenue near Orthodox Street.

McKenzie was approached from behind and shot once in his head by an unidentified male wearing a facemask and armed with a silver revolver.

The suspect in both shootings wore similar clothing and is left handed.

Anyone with information about this suspect is asked to call either the New York Police Department or Philadelphia police.
