North Caddo wide receiver Omarion “O” Miller has decided to decommit from Nebraska after major events surrounding the Huskers’ program took place this week.

Matt Rhule was named Nebraska coach Monday and interim coach Mickey Joseph, who recruited Miller from an LSU commitment to a Nebraska commitment, was arrested Wednesday in a domestic abuse incident.

Joseph was placed on administrative leave by the school.

“Mickey Joseph was a big reason I came to Nebraska,” Miller told The Times on Friday.

A four-star receiver and Louisiana’s No. 16 recruit overall, Miller said he has yet to decide which school he will now sign with.

“In light of the many changes at the University of Nebraska, I have decided to decommit and open up my recruitment,” Miller posted. “I know this journey is teaching me life lessons that will help me in years to come. Through this process, I look forward to solidifying which university I will eventually call home.”

Miller was the 2022 Shreveport Times Male Athlete of the Year for his standout abilities in football and basketball. He was committed to LSU when Joseph was on Ed Orgeron’s staff, but switched to Nebraska when Joseph left. Joseph was named interim coach for nine games this season after Scott Frost was fired.

The 6-foot-2 Miller had 49 catches for 1,183 yards with 15 scores during the regular season this fall.
