Welfare check: Sprague Road

A resident called police Nov. 25 about a neighbor who did not respond to repeated calls at the house for two days. The caller was concerned about the woman’s health and well-being.

An officer followed up and found that the situation was OK.

Car crash: Columbia Road

Police responded to a car crash at 11:47 a.m. Nov. 26. A car had rear ended a limousine. There were no injuries.

Suspicious situation: Preserve Way

Police received reports at 8 p.m. Nov. 26 about a dark-colored van without headlights driving up and down the street for the last 15 minutes. The caller was unable to obtain the plate number and wanted it checked out.

Police did cruise that area.

Suspicious activity: Tyndall Falls

A caller at 10:49 p.m. Nov. 26 reported that eight to 10 teens were walking down the street toward the park. They were wearing hoodies and hats and yelling and screaming. They were not fighting.

The caller found it suspicious and wanted police to check it out.

Car crash: Columbia Road

Police cited one of two drivers involved in an accident Nov. 27. The motorist was charged with failure to yield.

Traffic stop: Water Street

A motorist was cited for not stopping at a red light at 8 p.m. Nov. 27.

Eluding police: Columbia Road

Police clocked three cars at 3:16 a.m. Nov. 28 on Columbia Road at John Road going 78 mph. They drove onto Interstate 480.

Police were in pursuit and contacted North Olmsted officers. The chase ended at 3:19 a.m.

Theft: Redwood Drive

A resident called police at 6:13 a.m. Nov. 28 to say that a truck had been stolen. The keys had been left inside.

The truck was last seen at about 11 p.m. Nov. 27. The truck did not show up on any local street cameras. It was entered as stolen.

Miscellaneous: Brookside Drive

Someone called about finding a hypodermic needle on the ground early Nov. 28.

Suspicious situation: Grist Mill Run

A resident at 5:09 a.m. Nov. 29 heard her doorbell ring. She looked out her window and did not see anyone.

She asked police to check the area, including around her car in the driveway. She said it appeared that someone was near her car, but that it may have been due to a reflection from lights.

Everything checked out OK.

Fraud: Sussex Drive

A resident on Nov. 30 reported that someone had hacked into a bank account and stolen money.

Suspicious situation: Preserve Way

A resident called police Nov. 30 to say that a neighbor had video of someone going through parked cars. The video showed people at the woman’s car, but nothing seemed to be missing.

The resident wanted police to come to the house. The video was taken from across the cul-de-sac.

Nothing was taken from the car. Its door was just open. Police asked the caller to request that the resident send them the video via email.
