Sports briefs: Portsmouth girls, Hampton boys win in middle school basketball

Vidacic leads Portsmouth MS girls past Hampton

HAMPTON - Lana Vidacic scored 10 points and the Portsmouth Middle School girls basketball team beat Hampton Academy, 48-11 on Thursday.

Cayla Gonzalez and Addie Lane starred defensively for the Clippers.

The Portsmouth Middle School junior varsity team beat North Hampton, 41-8.. Abby Craig led all scores with 14 points, while Elliott Blenkinsop starred defensively. The next game is Monday vs. Oyster River. The girls move to 2-0 on the season. 

Bailey's 25 points leads Hampton Academy boys basketball

HAMPTON - Kash Bailey connected on six 3-pointers and scored a game-high 25 points as the Hampton Academy boys basketball team opened its season Thursday with a 49-45 win over Portsmouth.

Bryce Pinsonnault added 12 points for Hampton, while Will Koutalidis had seven.

Damien Sununu led Portsmouth with 18 points, while Lukas Dmyrrun had 12. Kane Bridges and Bryan Eusebio both played well for Hampton.
