Walking Dead’s Aisha Tyler directs episode of Criminal Minds Evolution

Aisha Tyler is an actress who has completed a Walking Dead universe trifecta by directing episodes of The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead, and The Walking Dead: World Beyond. Add to that; she also starred in Fear TWD as Mickey in season 7. Tyler is known as Dr. Tara Lewis on Criminal Minds, and TVLine has reported she directed the seventh episode of this series’ sixteenth season.

The upcoming season, known as Criminal Minds: Evolution, begins two years after the season 15 finale and airs on Paramount+ in the US and Disney+ internationally. The Tyler-directed episode is titled “Piece of Me” and will release on January 19, 2023.

The revival of the series subtitled Evolution premiered on November 24, 2022, and saw the return of Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, Adam Rodriguez, Paget Brewster, and Josh Stewart.  The new cast includes Zach Gilford, Nicholas D’Agosto, and Nicole Pacet.

In addition to Tyler, Mantegna, Cook, and Rodgriguez will also direct episodes this season.

The Walking Dead universe – Aisha Tyler

Tyler made her directing debut in TWDU will the Fear the Walking Dead episode “J.D.” from season 6. This episode introduced John Dorie Sr., played by Keith Carradine. In season 7, she would return on the opposite side of the camera as Mikey in “Till Death.” She was one half of the wrestling duo with her husband Cliff, known as The Bride and The Groom.

She would then direct two episodes in the second season of the coming-of-age spinoff The Waking Dead: World Beyond,  “Exit Wounds” and “Family Is a Four Letter Word.” In the final season of The Walking Dead, she directed episode 20, “What’s Been Lost.”

She is known for her roles in Archer, The Boys Presents: Diabolical, BoJack Horseman, and many more. Next, she will star in the film How to Ruin the Holidays.
