Suspected shoplifter shot, injured by Lakeside police officer
LAKESIDE, Colo. — A man was shot and injured by a Lakeside police officer Tuesday afternoon, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said. The sheriff's office, which is investigating the shooting, said around 4:30 p.m., police received a call about shoplifting at the Walmart on 44th Avenue in Lakeside. The suspect ran from the scene and encountered a Lakeside officer near the Murphy Express gas station, not far from the Walmart, the sheriff's office said.
