ALLEGHANY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — The Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office and Alleghany Highlands Drug Task Force say they partnered with the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources to complete a search and arrest for a man.

Alleghany County Deputies say they arrived at the 2800 block of Schoolhouse road on Nov. 3. They say they had two search warrants including one obtained by the Alleghany Highlands Drug Task Force. During the search, deputies say they discovered possible drugs and firearms.

43-year-old Henry C. Redman was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Illegal possession of ginseng
  • Illegal digging of ginseng
  • Hunting without a license
  • Hunting without deer turkey tags
  • Failure to tag
  • Failure to notch tag
  • 4 counts of illegal possession of wildlife
  • Possession with intent to Distribute over 10 grams
  • Firearm display while selling drugs

Deputies say they found the following:

  • 18 Firearms
  • 19 Grams of Methamphetamine
  • Seven ounces of Marijuana
  • Three pounds of illegal ginseng
  • Crossbow
  • 56 Ecstasy pills
  • 14 grams of mushrooms
  • 4,325 rounds of ammunition
  • 237 assorted pills and tablets
  • $291

Redman is being held without bond at the Alleghany Regional Jail.
