Huron gymnasts host quadrangular

HURON – The Huron Tigers gymnastics team hosted a quadrangular Thursday night at the Tiger Activity Center with Pierre, Chamberlain, and Stanley County.

Pierre came away with the team title, scoring 131.55 points. The Tigers finished with 122.20 team points.

Cameron Ruth and Maiya Hein each secured a second place finish in an event to pace the Tigers. Hein placed second in vault with a score of 8.65 behind Allison Hough of Chamberlain, who scored 8.70. Ruth scored a 7.95 on uneven bars to come in second behind Nevaeh Karber of Pierre, who posted an 8.40.

Hein was the top all-around finisher for Huron, placing sixth with a 31.10. Chamberlain’s Amelia Jones won the all-around with a 34.25 to outpace Pierre’s Karber, who scored 33.75.

Karber also won the floor exercise with an 8.95 score. Jones won the balance beam with a score of 9.00.

The Tigers will be back in action on Dec. 10 at the Aberdeen Invitational.
