A suspect in a November homicide in the Tremé is now in custody on murder and attempted murder charges.

A New Orleans police spokesperson says NOPD officers and U. S. Marshals arrested Michael Kirton, 44, on Thursday in connection with the November 14 shooting on North Claiborne Avenue near Robertson Street. That shooting, officers say, left two men and a woman wounded.

One of the men later died at the hospital.

The spokesperson says their investigation led them to Kirton as the gunman. Federal marshals arrested Kirkton in Avondale on warrants for second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder. Kirton is in the Orleans Parish Jail. No bond has been set.
