All three Williamsburg-James City County high school theater companies will be competing in the Virginia High School League State Theatre Championship on Saturday in Charlottesville.
Each theater group will perform one-act plays.
Jamestown High School will perform “The Seven Loves of Audrey Munson: A (Mostly) True Story,” an original play written by Jamestown High School theater director J. Harvey Stone. The play won an award for best original piece at the Virginia Theatre Association conference in October, and the cast won a Best Ensemble Award.
Lafayette High School will perform “Things I Know to be True” written by Andrew Bovell.
Warhill High School will perform “This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing” written by Finegan Kruckemeyer.
Students at all three high schools won awards for acting, playwriting or design at the October theater conference.
