ALBANY, NY (WRGB) —
Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple says charges are pending after a man was hospitalized after accidently firing a weapon into his leg.

Apple says the weapon was recovered Thursday night in the town of New Scotland. The person accused of illegally possessing it was taken to the hospital for a leg injury.
Sheriff Craig Apple says the weapon was in the man's waistband.
Investigators say the man, later identified as Ronald W. Henry, Jr., did not have a permit. He's been charged with 2 counts of criminal possession of a weapon, tampering and criminal possession of a firearm.

He's been remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility.
