The Children’s Advocacy Center for Kaufman County cut the ribbon on its new, bigger home in Kaufman on Thursday.

The new 10,000-square-foot building at 2005 S. Houston Street in Kaufman will help serve the rapidly growing Kaufman County population.

In the last five years, there have been more than 3,500 child abuse investigations in Kaufman County, and those numbers are increasing.

The new location quintuples the size of the former site, and includes room for added amenities, including eight counseling suites, six victim advocacy and forensic interview rooms, a medical evaluation room, a resource room, and a reception and waiting area.
