The New York Islanders take on the Nashville Predators on Friday at UBS Arena.
The Predators won the last matchup on Nov. 17 at Bridgestone Arena 5-4 after jumping out to a 4-1 lead in the first period. The Islanders are 0-6-2 in their last eight games against the Predators. Their last win came on Oct. 28, 2017.

"(The Predators are) a high potent offensive team, they've got big defensemen," Head Coach Lane Lambert said. "I just felt like we didn't have a very good start. That was the main takeaway for me, is that once we started playing, we had success but the start wasn't there for us."
The Islanders come into Friday's game off a 3-1 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. Prior to that loss, the Islanders had won four games in a row.
Nashville tied the New Jersey Devils in the final seconds to force overtime on Thursday before pulling out a 4-3 win on Ryan Johansen's second of the game. The Predators have won two consecutive games in overtime, defeating the Anaheim Ducks 2-1 on Nov. 29.
