Federal Realty Investment Trust celebrated the Dec. 1 groundbreaking for the second phase of construction at the Willow Grove Shopping Center.

Tentatively scheduled for completion in the summer of 2023, the second phase will feature new dining and public amenities in conjunction with the delivery of an 18,000 square-foot outparcel building.

The current shopping center will remain open during construction.

Located at 122 Park Avenue, the 211,000 square-foot shopping center is near various local services, including the Willow Grove SEPTA train station.

Newly designed walkways, street-level vibrancy, and updated amenities (including outdoor dining and a “pocket” plaza) are intended to increase the appeal of the site.

“The second phase of the Willow Grove Shopping Center redevelopment is important for the community and will enhance the downtown environment established by the township buildings located directly across Park Avenue.” said Mark Brennan, Federal Realty Investment Trust Vice President of Regional Development. “By kicking off this construction, we are one step closer to providing Willow Grove residents with enhanced place-making, great shopping options, and overall convenience.”

Matthew Candland, Willow Grove Township Manager, said: “We are confident that Willow Grove Shopping Center will remain a top retail destination in the area with revamped shopping, dining, and exceptional amenities, and we are eager for the community to enjoy its offerings.”

The Willow Grove Shopping Center is home to tenants within the fashion, dining, health, and beauty industries.
