A 10-year-old boy from Michigan has been charged after he brought a knife to school with a "hit list" of students who were mean to him, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office.
The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office said the boy brought a knife to Prevail Academy in Mt. Clemens on Tuesday. The boy allegedly asked a fellow student to hold down another boy so he could stab him. But before that happened, the student took the knife away and gave it to an adult.
According to the prosecutor's office, the boy was charged with the solicitation of assault with a dangerous weapon (a 4-year felony) and having a weapon in a weapon-free school (a 93-day misdemeanor).
He was arraigned on Wednesday and was given a $500 personal bond. Upon release, he will have a GPS tether and will be under house arrest.
Officials say the defendant is to have no possession of controlled substances or weapons, and no contact with the witness or anyone on his hit list.
The juvenile may leave his home for medical, school or court purposes.
The juvenile who gave the knife to an adult is a hero. He saw something and said something, which saved lives,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
