Strictly Come Dancing star Max George has shown off his love for girlfriend Maisie Smith in a very permanent way.

Appearing on Loose Women, the couple discussed their romance, with George revealing he had a half-and-half tattoo portrait of Smith's face and a lioness done on his forearm.

"Went in the deep end, didn't I?" he said, before joking: "It's only little though."

The singer and the former EastEnders star got close during her stint on the Strictly tour and confirmed their relationship earlier this year.

During the interview, the actress explained she chose the photo to be inked on George's skin.

"I made sure he picked a nice picture. I was not turning round and it was some dodgy candid photo he'd taken of me, I picked the photo," she said.

Asked whether she'll get a tattoo of George anytime soon, she replied: "Yeah…maybe. It's just under construction at the minute!"

"I wouldn't wanna look at me on you," George chimed in.

The pair also defended their age gap, with Smith saying: "The people that we allow in our lives are happy. That's all that matters to me."

Smith previously spoke on their 13-year age difference, saying that she doesn't mind someone's age when looking for a connection.

"People ask me: 'Do you notice it?' and I never have. We're so like-minded," the actress told Hello Magazine last month.

"I've got friends in their 30s and 40s. You connect with who you connect with."

For one week only, Strictly Come Dancing airs on Friday (December 2) at 8pm on BBC One, with a results show on Saturday (December 3) at 5.40pm. Spin-off show Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows also stream on BBC iPlayer.
