CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — Karen Annette (Cooper) Phelan, 67, of Clarksburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November, 30, 2022.
She was born February 4, 1955, in Clarksburg, daughter of Loretta Matheny Cooper of Clarksburg and the late John Robert Cooper.
Karen was a graduate of Washington Irving High School and the Music School of Atlanta. She was a lifelong member of Spring Hill Chapel, and was employed by the Veterans Administration.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffry Phelan.
Family will receive friends at the Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr., Rt. 98, Clarksburg, on Sunday, December 4, 2022, from 1 p.m. until time of her Celebration of Life Service at 5 p.m., with Pastor Lou Ortenzio officiating.
Karen’s heartfelt generosity was abundantly spread over her family and community. Her passions were animal rescue and social services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the animal shelter or food bank of your choice in Karen’s name.
