SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County is ranked sixth in the BluegrassPreps.com Preseason 15th Region Boys’ Basketball Rankings.
The Hornets are ranked ahead of Johnson Central, Betsy Layne, Paintsville, Prestonsburg, East Ridge, Lawrence County, Belfry, Phelps and Jenkins.
Magoffin County is listed behind Floyd Central, Shelby Valley, Pike County Central, Martin County and reigning champion Pikeville.
Following a loss to former 15th Region champion Martin County in the semifinals of the 57th District Boys’ Basketball Tournament, Magoffin County concluded the 2021-22 season 12-16.
Under the direction of Coach Scott Castle, Magoffin County opened preseason practice in mid-October.
Magoffin County will feature one of the most experienced lineups among 15th Region boys’ basketball teams in the 2022-23 season.
