Green Lake County deputies checking person’s welfare find body in frozen river
PRINCETON, Wis. (WBAY) - The Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death in the Fox River in Princeton. The sheriff’s office was asked to check on a person’s welfare at a house along the river shortly before 7 a.m. Thursday. The cold front has moved through Wisconsin during the overnight hours, beginning the process of drastically decreasing the temperatures. Highs will be in the upper teens with the lakeshore barely reaching 20 degrees. A line of heavy to moderate snow will be impacting the Wisconsin and Illinois border as another system moves across the Midwest behind the cold front. Some of the snow could reach the Fond du Lac through Sheboygan area starting mid-afternoon through nightfall. 1-3″ of additional snow is possible by Sunday morning. NWS in Milwaukee and Green Bay have issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Green Lake, Sheboygan, Fond du Lac, and Manitowoc County until Sunday morning at 6:00 A.M. Roads could be treacherous from Fond du Lac through Milwaukee.

The highest odds of snow tonight will be south of Green Bay, especially along and south of a line from Montello to Manitowoc where 1 to 3″ is possible. Totals between 2″ and 4″ are possible in southeastern Fond du lac and Sheboygan Counties. A coating may occur as far north as Wautoma, Appleton, and Kewaunee. Snow covered roads and reduced travel speeds can be expected in areas that get snow. Even higher amounts of snow are expected across southern Wisconsin near Milwaukee. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY continues for Marquette, Green Lake, Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, and Manitowoc Counties through tonight.
