Residents in Snohomish County are still dealing with power outages Thursday afternoon.
As of 3 p.m., the outage map showed about 1,500 customers affected by the power outages. For some residents, though, the power came back on late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.
Roy Tucker lives in Edmonds and said he was surprised when the power went out and he didn't know what to do.
"The power went out and then all of a sudden we just thought, 'How do we cook, how do you do anything in here?'" Tucker said.
He added his power came back around 3 a.m. Thursday after two days. Tucker said he had to cover himself in a number of blankets just to keep warm. For many residents, they're finally getting some relief as Snohomish County PUD crews are working to get the lights back on.
“It came on at 3 o'clock in the morning, I just checked all the lights and everything but it was still cold so we just do the best you can," said Tucker.
In a tweet, Snohomish County PUD said it has more than 30 crews in the field, including two in Edmonds that should restore power to more than 160 customers by Thursday afternoon.
Some residents in Edmonds said they are prepared for these kinds of weather events.
“We have a camp stove with propane and we have lanterns and lots of flashlights so we’re prepared," said Bill Davis who was without power for almost 24 hours.
Davis shares his experience without power, and said there was a lot of noise outside of his home a few nights ago when the power had just gone out.
“We saw some flashing lights just over the hill here and we don’t know if that was a down tree or what I didn’t venture out at that point but I got up the next morning and the power was still off," he said.
Snohomish County PUD said they anticipate nearly all customers will be restored by late Thursday evening.
