Clarksville Women’s Club donates dictionaries to third-grade students

CLARKSVILLE, TN – Meet the “Governator” – a student-built, remote-controlled robot that can launch T-shirts more than 200 feet. You’ll get a chance to see the robot in action when the Governors host Queens at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Winfield Dunn Center. And the robot will be a perfect added touch to the day – College of STEM Day – which will celebrate science, technology, engineering and mathematics students, faculty and staff.

Jesse Edward Key, age 93, of Clarksville, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. Jesse Edward was born January 14, 1930, to the late Gus Franklin Key and Mary Ruth Shelby Key. He was a farmer for 20 years or more. He was also a welder, a steel worker, and a crane operator for Langford’s Welding and Steel Works, Inc. both prior to and after his time in the service. From 1953 to 1956, he was a Sergeant in the 101st Airborne. Later, he worked for TVA Cumberland City, where he retired as a boilermaker.

Virgil Dennis Chester, age 82, of Clarksville, TN, passed away Monday, January 30, 2023, at his residence. Mr. Chester was born August 22, 1940, to the late Walter Ewing Chester and Ruby Carter Chester in Montgomery County, TN.
