It sucks when some shitbag steals someone’s vehicle. Many folks simply don’t have the money to replace a stolen ride. The results can be devastating.

Hope the victim is able to cope without too much trouble and that the shitbag thief gets exactly what he or she deserves.

Bring back the original punishment. Horse thieves used to be sentenced to capital punishment.

I agree. Thieves are everywhere casing everybody’s house and car, breaking in and stealing. Everybody needs to be on high alert because…..because even when they are caught and turned over to the police they get released with minimum penalties to go steal some more! These damn judges need to get their homes broken into, their vehicles stolen so they can get a feeling for what the heck is going on!! It is Misplaced Compassion to allow thieves to run around like they do…

While some people are thieves because they like the thrill or feel entitled, most theft is a symptom of much bigger systemic issues. You can’t incarcerate people out of poverty, desperation, drug addiction, mental illness, lives that they already feel aren’t worth living. We’ve tried that for decades and look, people still be stealing. It’s not really the deterrent people think it is. The whole world is insane right now so why this behavior surprises people is beyond me.

He didn’t advocate for incarceration. His solution would definitely stop repeat offenses.

Yeah, desperate people need to steal pickup truck to cart away the all sporting goods, clothing, packages from porches, etc they steal while driving past the help wanted signs.

You can’t incarcerate the drug addict out of his addiction but you can incarerate him out of the damage he does to everyone else in the meantime. It is not all about what the drug addict wants but also about what he does to others. If the world is insane right now, it’s because it is drunk on a fantasy that there shouldn’t be any consequences for irrational behavior- that everyone has a right to the same things that others earn through their labor only without the actual labor part.

Incarceration isn’t a deterrent because the idiot progressives have made mandatory 5 star hotel accommodations in jail and prison. But for thieves, I’m not even a proponent of jail or prison. Hanging worked well in the past. I don’t care by what method it happens, capital punishment should be what is mandatory – like you said they feel life isn’t worth living. I don’t feel like their lives are worth the price their victims are paying.

As for prosecuting these criminals, our local DA office tells victims they will prosecute, but this is a flat out lie. The ADA who promised me dropped the ball, now no longer works there and nothing is being done. That’s why I am pissed we now have voted in a new business (actually lack of) as usual DA. It’s clearly going to remain an unjustice system.

Where are 5 star hotel accommodations in a prison? Maybe 3 star at some club fed minimum security joint for white collar criminals that steal billions. CA prisons remain working towards a Supreme Court mandate to keep their overcrowded facilities at only 33% above maximum capacity.

All of the legislation to reduce sentences and reallocate certain criminals to longer stints in county facilities are in response to the reality that trying to incarcerate ourselves into a crime free society only resulted in horribly overcrowded jails and prisons. And crime still rose.

Did you notice I don’t want prison overcrowding. I want exponentially greater numbers of capital punishment. No thousand and one appeals. No more BS. Violent criminals deserve the death penalty, period.

I think I saw this truck somewhere between 7-8am in the Somes Bar convenience store parking in front while I the store was closed, young native looking teenager and his girlfriend in this truck and another young kid in a golden Toyota with them, I stopped to get internet by the store and they freaked out and left rapidly toward happy camp.

Maybe you can get the footage in the Somes bar convenience store.
