How to get Metallica ‘M72′ tour tickets if you only want to attend 1 concert

Metallica's 'M72 tour goes along with their 12th studio album “72 Seasons,” their first full-length album of original songs since 2016.

Tickets for Metallica’s recently announced “M72″ world tour went on presale Wednesday and will go on sale to the general public Friday morning.

The “M72″ tour coincides with Metallica’s 12th studio album, “72 Seasons,” the band’s first full-length album of original songs since 2016. Many of these songs and more will be performed on the world tour, which will span two years and 46 shows in 23 cities — including East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The band is branding the tour “No Repeat Weekend,” where no two concerts in the same weekend will be identical. Fans can expect different setlists and opening acts for each show in a city.

When you go to buy tickets on Ticketmaster, though, you’ll only be able to purchase “two-day ticket passes.” These are for two concerts in a specific city. So, for example, if you want to buy tickets to the Aug. 4 show at MetLife Stadium, you’ll be paying for the Sunday, Aug. 6 show, too — even if you don’t want to attend that concert.

Single-day ‘M72′ tickets do not go on sale on Ticketmaster until Jan. 20, 2023, which means fans will either have to shell out the money for two concerts or look to the resale market.

Some secondary ticket websites are selling single-day tickets, and you can search places like Vivid Seats, StubHub, TicketNetwork and MegaSeats.

Vivid Seats, for example, currently has single-concert tickets for sale. So does MegaSeats.

It’s common for speculative tickets to be available on the secondary market first, but they may be more expensive than the ones sold to the general public.
