Christian Pulisic reveals nature of his World Cup injury

Christian Pulisic sent the U.S. to the knockout round of the 2022 World Cup by scoring the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Iran on Tuesday.

It turned out to be a painful goal for the American star as he suffered what has been officially called a pelvic contusion.

On Thursday, he revealed a little more detail about the injury and what did -- and did not -- happen on the play.

That clarifies things a little!

When Pulisic was injured following the goal, fans on social media were convinced that he took a knee in a very sensitive area. And while Pulisic did admit to taking a knee to a "nice pelvic area" he wanted to at least clarify which part of that area he did not get kneed in.

Pulisic's status for the U.S. knockout game against the Netherlands on Saturday. He is officially listed as being "day-to-day" and we will probably not know more until closer to kickoff this weekend when the lineups are officially announced.

If Pulisic can not play, it is expected that Brenden Aaronson would take his place. Aaronson has started in place of Pulisic in the past.
