A caretaker in Florence County has been charged with abuse and neglect.

Falicia Ann B. Scott was arrested by the Florence County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday, Nov. 30 and charged with abuse and neglect of a vulnerable adult with great bodily injury, according to a report.

According to investigators, around Nov. 11, Scott allegedly "repeatedly struck the vulnerable adult victim in the head and face causing severe visible injuries, including a fractured right eye socket and partial tearing of the left ear from the head as well as various other scratches and bruises to the victim’s face and body."

Scott was also living with the victim at the time of the alleged incident, officials said.

She is currently being held at the Florence County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
